Mitchell lost her close friend Angela during a car accident. The young singer was just fifteen years old. It was a very difficult time for Mitchell and her song Angel from her album debut was composed to honor Angela. The song was featured on her 7th Heaven Episode Nothing Endures But Change and in Chicken Soup for Preteen Soul she also talked about her experiences.
